You are ready to make a change, but how do you know if I’m the right therapist for you?
About Me.
I’m Robyn Ganeles, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Berkeley, CA. I love practicing in the city where I grew up and where I’m currently raising my own family. I chose to pursue a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist because I feel passionate about the healing power of connection. We are experiencing an epidemic of loneliness and that feeling of isolation hits even harder when you’re emotionally overwhelmed or going through something particularly challenging. Feeling seen, heard, and understood by another person is incredibly powerful. But that, alone, is not enough. It’s also important to develop strategies to process and manage the situations and emotions that overpower us. A strong therapeutic relationship, based in trust, is the combination of connection and action.
My specialties include anxiety, parenting, and infertility. I was drawn to these focus areas because of my own life challenges and struggles to find therapists and specialists that could effectively support me in processing my experiences and moving forward. I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety and I’m certified in TEAM-CBT, Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), and Advanced Grief Counseling with an emphasis on disenfranchised grief. In addition to my private practice, I’m also a clinical supervisor for Seneca Family of Agencies, a non-profit organization that provides school-based therapy to children and families in West Contra Costa County. During my 15 years with Seneca, I’ve been a clinician, Assistant Director, and program supervisor.
